OXFORD, Miss. - After starting the season with 17 consecutive games on the road, the Ole Miss softball team returns home to play its first home game of the season against the Memphis Tigers at 6 p.m. CT on Tuesday at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.

The game between Ole Miss (12-5) and Memphis (6-7) will be broadcast online as a part of the SEC Network+ digital platform with play-by-play provided by Will Kollmeyer. Admission is free to the public as is admission for all home softball games at Ole Miss.

The Rebels enter the midweek contest after playing five games at the Felsberg Invitational this past weekend on the campus of Florida International University. Ole Miss went 4-1 in the weekend event with victories over host FIU, Michigan State and two wins over Bethune Cookman. The Rebels ran their win streak out to nine consecutive games before falling to Michigan State in extra innings in the tournament finale on Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore outfielder Miranda Strother paces the Ole Miss offense this season, hitting at a .537 clip with 14 RBI and 10 runs scored. She ranks third in the Southeastern Conference in batting average and is also in the top five in the league in hits with 29 on the season.

Strother is joined in the offense with three other players hitting above the .350 mark on the season, including senior third baseman Allison Brown (.351), junior catcher/outfielder Natalie Martinez (.421) and freshman outfielder Elantra Cox (.478).

Cox has been a spark at the top of the Rebel lineup this season, ranking ninth in the SEC in batting average and third in the SEC in steals as she has gone 15-of-18 on steal attempts this year. She has also scored a team-leading 15 runs.

In the circle, it's been sophomore Emily Gaitan who has seen the bulk of the action and success for the Rebels. Gaitan holds a 7-1 record on the season with a team-leading 1.53 ERA and 47 strikeouts. She has tossed two complete-game shutouts this season and posted a 3-1 record this past weekend at the Felsberg Invitational.

Memphis enters the midweek contest after an undefeated weekend at the Cowgirl Classic hosted by McNeese State. The Tigers posted victories over Drake, Texas Tech and McNeese State to improve to 6-7 on the season.

Ole Miss and Memphis faced each other on Saturday, February 21, in a single game hosted at Petal High School in Petal, Mississippi, when inclement weather in Oxford forced the cancellation of the Red and Blue Classic. The Rebels won that contest 8-2 over the Tigers.
