Rebels in Second After Opening Round of Tiger Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. - The Ole Miss men's golf team jumped out to a hot start in first round action today at the Tiger Invitational in Auburn, Alabama and are in second place, just four shots behind the hosting Auburn Tigers.
Led by Forrest Gamble (Birmingham, Ala.) and Ben Wolcott (Dickson, Tenn.), Ole Miss fired a 6-over par 294 good for second place on the team leaderboard.
Gamble and Wolcott each shot a team-best 1-over par 73 and are tied for 12th place in the tournament, while Blake Morris (Waterbury, Conn.) and Josh Seiple (Castle Rock, Colo.) are tied for 18th after each posting a 2-over par 74.
Though off to a good start, Head Coach Chris Malloy is eager to get back out on the course and move up the leaderboard in the remaining two rounds.
"We did a lot of good things out there today, but made too many mistakes coming in too," Malloy said. "We are still in a great position to win this tournament with a two solid rounds."
The Rebels are back out on the course tomorrow starting at 9:15 a.m. and will be paired with players from Auburn and Kansas State.
