Rebels Named to Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Eight Ole Miss student-athletes are among a total of 637 student-athletes named to the 2014-15 Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll, Thursday by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive.
The 2014-15 Winter SEC Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2014 spring, summer and fall terms.
Men's basketball led the way, with five named to the honor roll, including seniors Aaron Jones, Jarvis Summers and LaDarius White. Sophomores Terry Brutus and Dwight Coleby rounded out the Rebel hoopsters on the list. They helped the Rebels to their eighth NCAA Tournament appearance and a thrilling win over BYU in the first round.
Gracie Frizzell and Amber Singletary represented women's basketball on the honor roll, while helping lead the Rebels to the third round of hte WNIT, the first postseason appearance for the program since 2009-10.
Sophomore Alison Weisz of Rifle made the list while qualifying for the NCAA Championships for the second year in a row.
