CORAL GABLES, Fla. - After rain cancelled the opening day of the Miami Invitational Friday, the No. 25 ranked Ole Miss women's tennis finally got the 2016 season started Saturday, with two rounds of singles and one round of doubles at the Schiff Tennis Center.

The Miami Invitational includes No. 1 Vanderbilt, No. 13 Miami and No. 41 Texas.

Rebels Go 3-0 in Doubles…
Ole Miss started the day with three doubles wins. Mai El Kamash and Arianne Hartono, ranked No. 47 in the nation, downed 28th-ranked Breaunna Addison and Danielle Wagland of Texas 6-1. Marija Milutinovic and Tea Jandric edged Summer Dvorak and Ellie Yates of Vanderbilt 7-5. Allie Sanford and Natalie Suk defeated Lana Groenvynck and Neda Koprcina of Texas 6-3.

El Kamash, Sanford and Hartono Pick up Singles Wins…
It was a tough day for the Rebels in singles, as Miami won seven matches. The Rebels did rebound to win three of five from Texas. Senior Mai El Kamash, ranked No. 55, defeated Lana Groenvynck (Texas) 6-1, 2-6, 10-4. Sophomore Arianne Hartono, ranked No. 84, downed Neda Koprcina (Texas) 6-3, 6-2. Freshman Allie Sanford beat Chelsea Crovetti of Texas 6-0, 6-2.

Quoting Head Coach Mark Beyers…
"Tough start this morning against Miami. They have a very good team, and were simply better than we were after just a few days of practice. We bounced back a little in the afternoon, taking three out of five singles versus The University of Texas. It is still very early and these types of matches give us a lot of insight into what we need to work on with the different players over the next few weeks. Hopefully we'll be able to finish strong tomorrow."
