Weisz Leads Rebels in Tri-Match

OXFORD, Miss. - In their first competition of the spring, the No. 16 Ole Miss rifle team faced top competition Saturday at the Patricia C. Lamar National Guard Readiness Center with No. 2 Murray State and No. 8 Nebraska.
The Rebels finished with an overall score of 4593, while Murray State shot a 4687 aggregate. Nebraska posted a 4672 total score.
Smallbore…
Junior Alison Weisz led the Rebels in smallbore, shooting a 569, as the team finished with a 2252 total.
Air Rifle…
In air rifle, Alison Weisz posted her fourth score in the 590s with a team-leading 591. Freshman Harley Gardner tallied a 584, one off her career-high, while freshman Allison Villa posted a 583, two off her career-best.
Quoting Head Coach Valerie Boothe…
"We trained hard the last few weeks, but it didn't translate for today. Air rifle was a good start for this part of the season but smallbore needs to come together. We'll continue to move forward and work hard for the next opportunity."
