Ole Miss Soccer Head Coach Matthew Mott met with members of the media on Monday as part of his weekly press conference. Coach Mott recapped last week's action versus Alabama and No. 16 Florida,, and also previewed Friday's matchup versus Texas A&M in Oxford (7 p.m., SECN+).

Opening Statement...
"The SEC is such a grind and every game is tough. We were up in Kentucky and won a great match in overtime. We got a goal by Alley Houghton, one of our local freshmen, on a great goal that was pretty exciting to win up there 2-1. We came back to face Alabama on Thursday night. We beat them 2-1 with goals from Alley Houghton again and Maddie Falter, two of our freshmen. Those two played very well. We also had great defensive performances by Melissa Capocaccia, Madison Meador, Liza Harbin, and Grace Waugh, who are doing a great job for us. We moved Marisa Kutchma into our holding midfield spot. She has been doing a fantastic job since making that change, and getting some really good, hard work in there. We moved Gretchen Harknett back there also. She is playing at a very high level. Last night, we matched up with Florida, one of the nation's best teams and lost 3-0. It was a hard-fought match. We gave up a goal early and had two good chances at the end of the first half that we didn't connect on. We battled in the second half with heart against a really good team. I think we learned a lot that game. It'll set us up for these last four games which are massive. We are trying to get to the beach (SEC Tournament in Orange Beach, Ala). We are currently eighth and they take the top 10 teams. We are kind of right on the bubble, so we need points. We have our last home game this Friday night against Texas A&M, which is always a very good match. They knocked us out of the NCAA Tournament last year, so that iis still clear on our minds. They are battling too. They are trying to get to the beach, and are one spot behind us. Texas A&M is a very good team and very well coached. Haley Pounds and Mikaela Harvey are two of the best players in our league. We have to be ready for them. Our team is in a good spot and I think we feel good about how we are playing. We are battling every game and I think the road games are going to be very good for us. We are going to have to be our best on the road. After Texas A&M, we go to Georgia, to Vanderbilt and to South Carolina."

On Addie Forbus' play and what she's meant to the program...
"Addie Forbus, Georgia Russell, Sara Coleman, those guys have been with us the whole time, and my whole time. Addie committed so early, that in my seven years here, she has been here the whole time with the program, whether as a commit or a player. She is a special Rebel. She will go down in the history books with all the reords. She is in the top 10 in everything. She is our leader and captain for us this year and is really battling like crazy. She is one of the really good Ole Miss players and will be one of the best ever Ole Miss Rebels from the state of Mississippi. I think she has been fantastic for us. It's sad to think that she won't be there after this year."
