SCOUTING TEXAS A&M
Led by 24-year head coach G Guerrieri, the Aggies are 7-6-1 overall on the year and 2-4-1 in SEC play sitting tied for ninth with Alabama. Picked second in the SEC Preseason Poll, Texas A&M is winless in its last five outings. The Aggies are coming off a 2-0 loss at Tennessee last Sunday, and tied with Missouri, 1-1 (2OT), in the match prior. Wins over LSU (3-0) and Georgia (1-0) got the Aggies off to a 2-0 start in league play, before they went on to lose at Vanderbilt (2-0), at Alabama (2-1) and at home versus No. 8 South Carolina (1-0). A&M began its 2016 season with a tough matchup against No. 1 Florida State and fell 1-0. After defeating Rice (4-1), the Aggies faced another ranked team in No. 15 UCLA also falling 1-0. From there, three consecutive wins over Tulsa (2-0), Little Rock (1-0) and Illinois (2-0) got the team setup for SEC play. As a team the Aggies are averaging 1.21 goals per game (11th in SEC), while only allowing 12 total goals through 14 matches. Five players appeared on the SEC Preseason Watch List, including All-SEC performer Haley Pounds, All-American Mikaela Harvey, Emily Bates, McKayla Paulson and Stephanie Malherbe. Pounds leads the way for the offense with six goals and four assists totaling 16 points, while Grace Piper is second with three goals on the year. Harvey is tied with Pounds for the team lead in assists with four, while Bates and Cienna Arrieta each have two goals. Danielle Rice has played all the minutes in goal for the Aggies and has recorded five shutouts and allowed just 12 goals for an average of 0.84 with 46 saves.

Ole Miss has won once against the Aggies, a 4-3 victory in College Station on Oct. 25 of last year. The most recent game came on Nov. 22, when the two sides tied in double overtime before the Aggies went on to advance to the Elite 8 via penalty kicks. Ole Miss and Texas A&M have met twice in Oxford with the Aggies winning both, 2-1 (2014) and 4-0 (2012).
