Rebels to Play for Doubles Title at ITA Regionals

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Ole Miss will be playing on the final day of the ITA Southern Regionals, as junior Natalie Suk and freshman Anna Vrbenska advanced to the doubles final Sunday at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. Junior Arianne Hartono advanced to the semifinals of singles before losing in three sets.
Doubles down to two
Ole Miss had two teams in the doubles semifinals, with senior Zalina Khairudinova and sophomore Tea Jandric also playing Sunday morning for a spot in the final. They lost to the No. 1 seed and 34th-ranked team in the nation, Andie Daniell and Daniel Spielmann of Alabama 6-2, 6-2. Suk and Vrbenska defeated Alex Kitchen and Caroline Drescher of Southern Miss 6-4, 6-4 to reach the final. They will face Routliffe and Daniell at 9 a.m. Monday.
Hartono reaches semifinals before losing
Hartono, ranked No. 17 in the nation and the No. 2 seed in the tournament, took out LSU's Ryaan Foster, seeded 5-8, 6-4, 7-6(3) in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals. She faced the No. 4 seed, Alizee Michaud of Auburn in the semifinals and took the first set 7-5. Michaud rebounded with some incredible tennis to win the second and third sets 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the final.

"We had a pretty good day today. Excited to have a doubles team in the finals. In singles, Arianne played a great match, but ran into a player who played some amazing tennis today. It was a very high level match. Hopefully we can pick up a title in doubles tomorrow and punch our ticket to the national indoor championships in New York".
