Rebels Set for Riviera All-American Championships

OXFORD, Miss. - For the 31st consecutive year, the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, California, will serve as host for the first national championship of the 2016-17 season, the ITA All-American Championships. Several members of the Ole Miss women's tennis team will begin competing in the event Tuesday.
Play began this past weekend with pre-qualifying at Pepperdine University. Main Draw action begins Thursday and the singles and doubles finals are scheduled for Oct. 9.
Who's Going
Sophomore Tea Jandric and junior Natalie Suk will get it started for the Rebels Tuesday with qualifying singles. Suk plays Viktoriya Lushkova of Oklahoma State at 12:45 p.m., and Jandric will face Kaitlyn McCarthy of Duke at 2:30 p.m. CT in the first round. Junior All-American Arianne Hartono will begin her quest in the main draw Thursday.
What's at stake
Main draw singles semifinalists, main draw doubles finalists and main draw consolation champions will receive automatic entry into the 2016 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, Nov. 3-6 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.

"The All-American is a very prestigious tournament and one of the top tournaments in the fall. We are excited to have three players competing in it. It's a great opportunity for them to get some ranked wins and help their individual national ranking."
