OXFORD, Miss. -- The No. 9 Ole Miss rifle team is headed to the Big Apple to take on No. 13 Army and No. 1 West Virginia in West Point, New York for their final match of the fall. This is the second time in program history Ole Miss will travel to West Point to face Army and West Virginia in one weekend.

The Rebels will face the two schools after an off week at home. Their last time out, they fired a school aggregate record against Jacksonville State on the road. Ole Miss will look to continue that success on Friday, Nov. 11, and Saturday, Nov. 12.

Noting the Rebels

In their last contest, the Rebels were led by senior Alison Weisz in air rifle, shooting a 595 for the second time in her career, matching her second-highest career score. Weisz also led the team with the highest aggregate score shooting at 1,180, also her highest of her career.

Three freshman followed in the senior Weisz's footsteps. Hayley Carroll also shot the highest total score of her career with 1,157, and her second-best score in air with 585. Jillian Tyler posted a personal best for the fourth week in a row, and Alana Kelly posted her second-highest air rifle score with 581.

In five matches this fall, 80 percent of the team has broken a personal best in air rifle, while 70 percent has done the same in smallbore and personal aggregate scores, and 50 percent has broken all three.

Matchup with Army

The Rebels will face No. 13 Army for the first time this season on Friday, Nov. 11. This is the 12th time Ole Miss has competed against Army the the tenure of the program. Ole Miss posted its highest air rifle score against Army this past year, shooting 2,338, and its highest smallbore score in 2010 with 2,311.

The Black Knights' are led by head coach Web Wright, who has been with the Army rifle program since 2012. Wright is a former Olympian and national champion and was named the official head coach last season. Army carries fifteen shooters on its team; four seniors, three juniors, three sophomores and five freshmen.

Matchup with West Virginia

The Rebels will face No. 1 West Virginia for the first time this season on Saturday, Nov. 12. This is the 14th time Ole Miss has competed against West Virginia in the tenure of the program. In 2011, the Rebels posted their highest scores in both air rifle and smallbore against WVU, shooting 2,349 and 2,297.

Head coach Marsha Beasley is no stranger to West Virginia's rifle program. Beasley led the Mountaineers to eight NCAA championships. Beasley coached over 25 student-athletes at WVU, who were named All-Academic 55 times by the CRCA, and she was also named West Virginia Sports Writers Coach of the Year.

WVU is now led by John Hammond. Hammond has seen five national championships in eight seasons, seven individual NCAA titles, seven consecutive GARC Championships, three undefeated seasons and 112 All-American honors.

Talking with head coach Marsha Beasley

"This trip will be interesting. This is the first time this season we have had back-to-back contests. Army's team has been situated in the rankings somewhat like Ole Miss, so it should be a good match-up. On the other hand, West Virginia has been ranked either number one or two all year and has been putting up huge scores. They are a great team."
