OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss women's tennis bolstered its future with the signing of Czech Republic junior national champion Sabina Machalová to a national letter of intent, head coach Mark Beyers announced Thursday.

Machalová won the Czech Republic U-18 National Championship in singles and doubles in 2015. She currently owns a WTA ranking of 1054 in singles and 666 in doubles.

In addition to winning her country's national championship, Machalová won an ITF Grade 4 title in Trnava, Slovakia, in singles and a Grade 4 doubles title in Prague, Czech Republic. This year she won an ITF pro doubles title in Graz, Austria.

"We are extremely excited to be adding Sabina Machalová to the Ole Miss tennis family," Beyers said. "Sabina brings a wealth of international playing experience. She has won national championships in the Czech Republic, ITF World Junior titles, and a WTA pro doubles title. We fully expect Sabina to make a huge impact on this team in the next four years. With a Universal tennis rating of 11.33, Sabina will be one of the highest rated freshmen coming into college next year."

Machalová becomes the third player from the Czech Republic to sign with the Rebels, joining current team members, Tereza Janatova and Anna Vrbenska.

The Rebels recently wrapped up the fall season and will kick off the spring Jan. 14 at UC Irvine.
