Ole Miss volleyball head coach Steven McRoberts met with members of the media on Monday as part of his weekly press conference. Coach McRoberts discussed the Rebels' up and down season and previewed the final week.

On the rollercoaster season...
"This has been a crazy season. With the win on Sunday we guaranteed a winning season for the third straight year, which is the first time that's happened since the mid 80s for our program. We are proud of the team for achieving that. We've had a lot of ups and downs this year, a lot of missed opportunities. We've lost four SEC matches in the fifth set, three of those, 15-13. If we win those we're talking about being fifth in the conference. Instead we're 10th."

On tough loss at Mississippi State...
"We started off dominating Mississippi State. We were outpointing them 50-27. There is probably a lot of times, where it's hard to understand our sport. If it's a basketball game and you're up by that much at halftime, you're taking it to the house. In volleyball you're back to 0-0 when you walk out after the break. We gave up some momentum early after the break and just couldn't recover."

On bouncing back at Georgia...
"Against Georgia, we came out a little flat and battled back in the first set to win a close one. Got way behind in the second set, battled back to make it 24-23 lost it. Then for the first time in a while, we came out after the break and played solid winning 25-12 and 25-18."

On the team's attitude...
"No matter what the situation has been, when we've lost some heartbreakers, they've come back the next day ready to practice with great attitudes and work ethics, which has put us in a position to keep the streak going for winning seasons. We have a chance to win a couple more this week and move up in the conference."

On last home match...
"We would like to invite everyone out to our last home match Friday against South Carolina. We will be honoring senior Aubrey Edie, who has had such an incredible career for us. We've been blessed to have her as our setter the last three years. When this season ends, her name will be all over the record book for multiple stats. We want to invite everyone out Friday night to help us finish strong."
