Edie Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss volleyball senior Aubrey Edie has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team as announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Edie is one of five players from the SEC to be named to one of the eight district teams and the only one to earn the distinction three years in a row. She is now eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team that will be released at the conclusion of the season.
"The way that Aubrey carries herself is the true definition of a student-athlete," head coach Steven McRoberts said. "She is very responsible in the classroom and will leave Ole Miss with multiple season and career records. Aubrey is a great example to her teammate, and our entire program is happy for Aubrey to be recognized for her all around hard work."
To be eligible for Academic All-District consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key receive, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her current institution.
Edie boasts a 3.97 GPA in elementary education and is on track to graduate in May, 2017.
Directing the offensive attack, Edie owns the school record in assists, with 4,503 to date, as well as the single season and single match records. This season she has paved the way for two Rebels to rank among the top 10 in hitting percentage and two to be among the top 10 in kills.
Edie has been named to the Chancellor's Honor Roll every semester of her career and is a two-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. In addition, she was named to the SEC Community Service Team in 2015.
