2017 SEC Softball National TV Schedule
OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss softball will play at least eight games on national television in 2017, the SEC office announced Thursday in the release of the SEC Softball TV schedule.
The Rebels will appear on SEC Network six times and ESPNU twice, with five of those scheduled at home. In addition, all of Ole Miss' remaining home games will be available online through WatchESPN and the ESPN app as part of the SEC Network + digital streaming platform.
Ole Miss' first game on a national stage comes March 25 at Tennessee on SEC Network at 5 p.m. CT. A week later, Kentucky visits Oxford for the first of two-straight TV contests. The April 1 matchup is set for a 3 p.m. CT first pitch and will air on ESPNU, before the series finale a day later gets underway at 1 p.m. CT on SEC Network (April 2).
The Rebels will again be in the spotlight on ESPNU just SIX days later as they visit Auburn April 8 for a 3 p.m. CT tilt in the middle matchup of a three-game series. After a brief break from the national TV stage, Ole Miss will finish the regular season with four of its final nine games on SEC Network.
The long stretch in front of a national audience begins April 23 in the series finale at Florida, with first pitch set for 11 a.m. CT on SEC Network. A week later, Alabama will visit Oxford for a Saturday-Monday series, with the middle game being featured as the SEC Network Game of the Week (6 p.m. CT). Game three will also air on SEC Network May 1 at 6 p.m. CT to close out the Rebels' home slate of SEC action. Two days later, Ole Miss hosts in-state foe Southern Miss at 6 p.m. CT on SEC Network in the only non-conference tilt on national TV.
Similar to last season, the SEC Network will once again carry a special "Based Loaded" edition that will air on the SEC Network on Friday, May 5. This special whip around telecast will feature portions of every game on the final Friday night of the SEC regular season.
The ESPN family of networks will also again carry all of the action from the 2017 SEC Softball Championship. SEC Network will handle coverage of first and second round games, while the semifinal games will air on ESPNU, and the SEC Softball Championship game on ESPN.
The Rebels open the 2017 season Feb. 10-12 at the Easton Invitational in Fullerton, California. For the full 2017 schedule and details, visit here.
