Ole Miss is back on the hardwood after a break for exams on Saturday when they host La.-Monroe in a Saturday afternoon matinee. Tipoff is set for 1 pm from The Pavilion at Ole Miss. Tickets are available and can be purchased at the Ole Miss Ticket office or online HERE.

1. Ole Miss battled to the very end, but came up just short in a 66-61 loss at No. 16 West Virginia in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Dec. 4. Taylor Manuel and Erika Sisk led Ole Miss with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Shequila Joseph posted a career-best 11 rebounds for her second game with double figure rebounds this season. The SEC won the Challenge, 6-4.
2. The Mountaineers were the first ranked opponent for Ole Miss this season and the road game was just the third neutral site or true road contest for the Rebels this season. Ole Miss is 0-1 against ranked foes this season, but will take on 10 opponents that are ranked or receiving votes in this week's AP or Coaches poll.
3. Saturday's game begins a stretch of six straight home games for Ole Miss. The Rebels will close out the non-conference slate with its next five games and then open the SEC slate on Jan. 1 when Arkansas travels to Oxford. Key non-conference foes on deck include Oregon (Dec. 14) and VCU (Dec. 17).
4. Ole Miss and La-Monroe will be meeting for the 16th time on Saturday with Ole Miss leading the all-time series, 13-2. The teams last met in 2013-14 with the Rebels earning a 78-72 win in Oxford. Ole Miss has won the last 10 meetings between the teams and is 8-1 in games played in Oxford.

Ole Miss' 5-0 record at The Pavilion at Ole Miss, to open the season is the best start to the home slate in the Insell era and is the best home slate start since 2012-13 when Ole Miss won its first seven home games. Ole Miss' best undefeated start at home in most recent history was an 11-0 start in 2006-07.
Ole Miss vs. La-Monroe Notables
-Ole Miss is taking on La.-Monroe for the second time in the Insell era and for the 16th time in program history. The Rebels own a 13-2 record and have won the last 10 meetings between the teams. The last time the teams met was in 2013-14, a 78-72 Ole Miss win in Oxford.
-The Warhawks have one Mississippi native on their roster in Alexis Collins who is from Jackson and spent time at Co-Lin Community College before going to La.-Monroe. Ole Miss doesn't have any Louisiana natives on the roster or staff.
A Win Would
-Give Ole Miss its sixth straight home win, the best start to the home slate in the Insell era and also the best start to a home season since 2012-13 when Ole Miss won its first seven home games.
-A win would also be Ole Miss head coach Matt Insell's 48th career win putting him two wins from the 50 career wins.
Rebels By The Numbers
3-Number of wins head coach Matt Insell needs to earn his 50th career win. Insell is 47-54 in three years as head coach of the Ole Miss women's basketball team. The earliest Insell could get win No. 50 would be against VCU on Dec. 17.
8- Number of points Ole Miss scored in the first quarter against West Virginia. It was the first time all season Ole Miss failed to reach double figures in the first quarter this season. Entering the West Virginia game Ole Miss was averaging 21.4 points in the first quarter.
11-Number of rebounds Shequila Joseph had against No. 16 West Virginia. It was Joseph's second game of double figure rebounds this season and is a new career-best for the London native.
13-Number of points Taylor Manuel had against West Virginia. It was Manuel's third game in double figures this season and her first since scoring 13 against Jacksonville State on Nov .17. Manuel opened the season averaging 11.7 ppg through the firs three games but only averaged 4.0 ppg prior to the West Virginia game.
50.6-Number of points Ole Miss opponents are averaging this season. The 50.6 points ranks the Rebels No. 8 the nation in scoring defense. Only three teams have scored 60 or more against the Rebels this season and no opponent has reached 70 points this season. Ole Miss held Southeastern Louisiana to a program-low 31 points in the season-opener.
Scouting La.-Monroe
La-Monroe enters Saturday's game with a 2-5 record after falling to Northwestern State on Sunday. The Warhawks have dropped their last two contests and five of their last six. Andreanna Jackson leads a trio of players in double figures with 12.4 points per game. Grabriella Cortez is adding 11.7 points per game and Alexis Collins is contributing 10.7 ppg. Stephanie Ratliff is leading the rebounding efforts with 11.4 rebounds per game and is nearing a double-double average with 9.3 points per game. Ole Miss is the second SEC opponent for ULM, as they took on Arkansas falling, 92-46, to the Razorbacks.
About Ole Miss
Ole Miss enters Saturday's game with a 6-2 record after a heartbreaking 66-61 loss at No. 16 West Virginia on Sunday. Madinah Muhammad and Shandricka Sessom continue to lead Ole Miss from the floor. Sessom is averaging 13.6 ppg, while Muhammad is averaging 13.1 ppg. Erika Sisk is also in double figures contributing 10.3 points per game. A trio of Rebels is leading Ole Miss on the glass, led by Shequila Joseph's 6.6 boards per game. Sessom isn't far behind with 5.3 rebounds per game while Erika Sisk is adding 4.8 rebounds per game. Sessom has posted two double-doubles on the season, most recently recording 18 points and 10 rebounds against Jackson State. Bretta Hart also recorded her second career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Shelby Gibson is Ole Miss' top scoring freshman with 8.5 points per game which is among the top five scoring freshman in the SEC. Madinah Muhammad became the first Rebel to score 20+ in back-to-back games with 22 vs. Wisconsin and 24 against UNLV, while Matt Insell is three wins away from his 50th career win.
