Ole Miss to Participate in Hope to Dream Program
2/18/2016 | Student-Athlete Development
OXFORD, Miss. - Ashley Homestore has partnered with Ole Miss Athletics and together they will be making the lives of some children in the Oxford-Lafayette community a little brighter by providing them with an entire bed set as a part of the Ashley HomeStore "Hope to Dream" program.
Ole Miss will partner with Dufresne Spencer Group, the largest licensee of Ashley Furniture HomeStores, and the Boys and Girls Club - L.O.U Barksdale Clubhouse for an event on the Ole Miss campus on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at the Manning Center. The selected children will spend some time with members of the football and track and field teams and will be surprised with bed sets, which will include a twin mattress set, pillow, sheets and a comforter before attending the men's basketball game against Missouri at 8 p.m.
Todd Garten, Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising believes that Ashley HomeStore's "Hope to Dream" initiative is a way to change the world one life at a time.
"Our job at Ashley HomeStore is to help our guests create the space in their home where life's most precious moments happen. We believe that children can change the world, and in the power of `what if'. Hope to Dream is our effort to change the world one life at a time."
Ole Miss Assistant Athletic Director of Student-Athlete Development Jennifer Saxon is excited about the opportunity to give back to children in our local Oxford and Lafayette communities.
"We are excited about being able to provide a need to children in our local community," said Saxon. "Having your own space to sleep and dream is something not everyone has and we're thrilled to be able to help provide that for some very deserving children."
Chad Spencer, President of the Dufresne Spencer Group, is passionate about the program and its efforts to support the local Ashley HomeStore communities and is pleased to be bringing an event to Ole Miss.
"We can have the greatest product at the best price, but if we don't serve the guest and give back to the community that supports us, we are spiritually bankrupt as a company. That's why events like this and "Hope to Dream" are so important to us at Ashley HomeStore."
Information about Hope To Dream
