HONOLULU -
At 3 a.m. CT Monday morning, most people were sleeping gearing up for another average Monday. Not the Ole Miss Softball team. At 3 a.m. CT, the Rebels departed Oxford to begin the long journey to the Aloha State, where it opens the 2016 season Thursday.

It just so happened that Ole Miss' departure came the morning following of one of the biggest nights and games of the year, Super Bowl 50. Many Rebels pulled all-nighters. Some slept very little.

"Meeting at the field at 2:30 a.m. and traveling all day was pretty tough, being that most of the girls pulled an all-nighter making sure they didn't forget anything behind," senior Natalie Martinez said following the long day.

But when it was all said and done, through all the exhaustion and excitement, the Rebels landed in Honolulu at approximately 2 p.m. HST to begin their week-long adventure, but most importantly, business trip.

"We easily forgot how long it took us to travel to Hawaii as we flew in over crystal blue waters and picturesque palm trees," Martinez added. "We immediately dropped off our bags and headed to the beach."

After a much needed two-hour long break at the team hotel, and for some a trip to the beach, the group enjoyed its first team dinner together at the Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant. And with that, rest was the name of the game as the Rebels gear up for their first practice in Hawaii Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.
