No. 22 Rebels Ready for SEC Home Opener

OXFORD, Miss. â€" After splitting a pair of Southeastern Conference matches on the road last weekend, the No. 22 ranked Ole Miss men's tennis team welcomes LSU and No. 7 Texas A&M this weekend to begin spring break.

The Rebels will battle the Tigers Friday at 5 p.m., followed by the Aggies on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches are scheduled for outdoors, but rain is in the forecast, so if it rains, they'll be played in the Gillom Sports Center.

Promotions…
The first 75 fans to the LSU match will receive an Ole Miss Tennis tumbler, while the first 75 fans to Sunday's match will get Ole Miss Tennis balls.

Last time out…
Ole Miss rallied to defeat Tennessee 5-2 last Friday. After dropping the doubles point, the Rebels won five first sets in singles on their way to their seventh straight win against the Volunteers. On Sunday, the Rebels won the doubles point, but the Wildcats won five first sets and held off the Rebels 4-3.

Scouting LSU…
LSU comes into the weekend at 8-4 overall and 1-1 in the SEC. They are coming off a 5-2 win against Auburn on Sunday after a close 4-3 loss to Florida last Friday. The Tigers are led by Jordan Daigle, who is ranked No. 102 with an 11-5 overall record, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. LSU also boasts the No. 8 ranked doubles team in the nation with Daigle and Boris Arias.

Looking at Texas A&M…
Texas A&M enters the weekend at 14-3 overall, 2-0 in the SEC. They downed Auburn 6-1 last Friday and then edged Florida 4-3. The Aggies are led by 14th-ranked Arthur Rinderknech with a 19-6 overall record, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Shane Vinsant is ranked No. 34 and Jordi Arconada is ranked No. 67 in singles.

Rebels vs. LSU and A&M…
Ole Miss rallied to beat LSU 4-3 last year in Baton Rouge but then dropped a 4-0 match to Texas A&M in College Station.

National Rankings…
The Rebels are ranked No. 22 in this week's Oracle/ITA National Rankings. In the latest individual rankings, Stefan Lindmark is ranked No. 103 in singles, while Filip Kraljevic and Zvonimir Babic are ranked No. 48 in doubles.
