Rebels to Face Alabama and Auburn on the Road

OXFORD, Miss. - After a close battle with No.9 South Carolina last Sunday, the Ole Miss women's tennis team is on the road this weekend to take on Alabama and No. 15 Auburn.
The Rebels will face Alabama Thursday at 5 p.m. at the Varsity Tennis Stadium, followed by the Tigers Saturday at 1 p.m., at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
Last time out...
Ole Miss dropped two matches against two top-15 opponents last weekend at home. No. 13 Florida defeated the Rebels 4-0, while South Carolina finished off a 4-1 win. The Rebels are now 8-5 overall and 1-5 in the SEC.
Scouting Alabama...
Alabama comes into the match at 4-10 overall and 0-6 in the SEC. They are coming off losses against Arkansas and Missouri on the road. The Tide dropped the doubles point in both matches and came up short by the final score of 4-3. Alabama has two players in the singles rankings, Erin Routliffe, ranked No. 44, and Andie Daniell, ranked No. 41.
Scouting Auburn...
Auburn women's tennis fell to 16-4 overall and 4-2 in the SEC after a road loss at Arkansas. Freshman Alannah Griffin was the lone winner for Auburn in singles. Griffin is now 4-0 in the SEC this season. The Tigers boast three players in the singles rankings, Andie Dikosavljevic at No. 31, Alizee Michaud at No. 46 and Pleun Burgmans at No. 77. Michaud and Burgmans are ranked No. 24 in doubles.
Rebels vs. Alabama and Auburn...
The Rebels kicked off Southeastern Conference play last year with matches at Auburn and Alabama. Ole Miss dropped a 5-2 match to No. 23 Auburn. It was the Rebels first loss at Auburn since 2008 so they are looking to turn that back around. They concluded the road trip with a 4-0 loss to No. 11 Alabama.
National Rankings...
The Rebels are ranked No. 38 in the latest Oracle/ITA National Rankings. In the singles rankings, Arianne Hartono moved up to No. 37. She improved to 15-8 overall and 8-2 at No. 1 singles. Natalie Suk and Mai El Kamash are ranked No. 97 and 98, respectively. Tea Jandric is ranked No. 119. In doubles, Hartono and El Kamash are ranked No. 26.

"It's obviously been a tough stretch for us the last couple of weeks, but the girls have been working hard in practice and putting in the effort. Hopefully we can see some positive results this weekend. We've had some battles with both teams the last few years, and I expect nothing less this weekend."
