Box Score | Final Stats

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss belted out three home runs, and Kayla Landwehrmier was solid in relief work in the circle to lead the Rebel softball team to a 5-4, come-from-behind victory over Samford Tuesday night at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.

The Rebels (26-9) trailed a majority of the game, but thanks to two-run blasts in the fifth and sixth innings, coupled with Landwehrmier's stellar pitching, came away with their 15th win at home this season.

After Elisha Jahnke got the start and gave up four earned runs off seven hits in 3.2 innings, Landwehrmier entered for the final 3.1 innings and gave up just two Bulldog hits. The St. Charles, Missouri native picked up her second win of 2016 and sixth of her career.

As a team Ole Miss powered a season-high three home runs including shots from Alex Schneider, Natalie Martinez and Courtney Syrett. Syrett's and Schneider's blasts both went for two runs, while Martinez had the first run of the game in the second off a solo shot.

Samford went up 3-0 early in the contest thanks to a two-run home run, and an RBI single. The Rebels got the run back in their next chance off Martinez's home run, her second in as many games to cut the Bulldog lead to 3-1.

The Bulldogs added their fourth and final run in the fourth after a leadoff single and sacrifice bunt led to an RBI single pushing the advantage to 4-1.

Ole Miss began the comeback attack in the fifth after Haley Culley walked, then scored on Schneider's birthday blast, before Syrett's long ball in the sixth pushed Ole Miss ahead for good securing the victory.

Samford's Grey Adams was tagged with the loss in just her third start of 2016 after giving up five runs in 5.1 innings. The Bulldogs' Hannah Trombley finished with two RBI off her home run, while Megan Dowdy was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
