Rebels Prepare for SunTrust Gator Invitational

SunTrust Gator Invitational Program
The Ole Miss women's golf team is headed to Gainesville, Florida this weekend to compete in the 2016 SunTrust Gator Invitational. The tournament will be hosted by the University of Florida and is being played at Mark Bostick Golf Course near the Florida campus.

Rebel To Watch For
Sophomore Sofia Idoyaga (Buenes Aires, Argentina) makes her second straight start of the spring for Ole Miss in the Gator Invitational. The Argentina native had a productive fall for the Rebels and looks to break through on the short course in Gainesville.
Toennessen Back At It
Junior Maria Toennessen (Grimstad, Norway) makes her 2015-16 debut for the Rebels after being sidelined with a knee injury in the fall. Toennessen last saw action in the 2015 SEC Championship where she carded a 80-79-80 - 239.
Head Coach Kory Henkes Quoted
On the Gator Invitational...
"The Florida tournament will have a really strong field with a lot of teams ranked in the top 30. They put new greens in last year so this event will be a test of patience and a good short game due to the firm greens. We have a new lineup this week so it will give us a chance to see how some younger players do in competition."
On Maria Toennessen's return...
"This will be Maria's first tournament since her two knee surgeries in the fall. She has been relentless with her work ethic and we are excited to have her back in the mix."
