Hartono Named to All-SEC Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss women's tennis sophomore Arianne Hartono earned All-SEC second team honors, as the league office announced the postseason awards Wednesday.
This is the second year in a row for Hartono (Meppel, Netherlands) to be recognized by the SEC. Last year, she was named to the All-Freshman Team. Hartono is ranked No. 33 in the nation in singles and No. 25 in doubles.
"Arianne has had a really good year," head coach Mark Beyers said. "She had a winning record at No. 1 singles during the SEC regular season. That is something that is hard to do. Every match you play one of the top ranked collegiate players. Being named All-SEC really says something about the type of year you've had. When you look at the national rankings, the SEC dominates both in the team as well as the individual rankings."
Hartono owns a 20-13 overall record, 13-7 at No. 1 singles. She went 6-5 in the SEC in her first year at No. 1 singles. She is expected to earn her first NCAA bid in singles and doubles when the NCAA announcements are made next week.
Ole Miss has had at least one member of the squad named to the All-SEC Team every year (15) under Coach Beyers.
The Rebels will find out their postseason fate May 3 when the NCAA selections are announced live on NCAA.com at 4 p.m. CT.
