Thornberry Finishes Play At U.S. Amateur

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. - Ole Miss sophomore Braden Thornberry post a 1-over par 71 in the second round of the U.S. Amateur at Oakland Hills Country Club Tuesday.
The Southaven, Mississippi native fired back-to-back birdies on No. 17 and 18 of the 6827-yard par-70 North Course. Thornberry carded a 3-over par 73 in the opening round on the South Course Monday and finished tied for 99th overall with a 4-over 144. The top 64 players after two rounds advance to match play beginning Wednesday.
