ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Ole Miss soccer came up short on the road to Michigan, 2-0, Friday night at U-M Soccer Stadium in non-conference action.

The Rebels (3-2) outshot the Wolverines (3-1-1) 19-10, including a 15-shot effort in the second period, but couldn't convert for a score. Ole Miss' defense held Michigan to 10 shots, eight of which came in the first half, as goalkeeper Marnie Merritt had to make just two stops on the night.

Ole Miss fell behind 1-0 in the 18th minute when Ani Sarkisian punched one in from the top of the box. The Wolverines' other score came 20 minutes later via a penalty kick, which capped the scoring on the night.

The Rebels had plenty of chances including one in the 22nd when CeCe Kizer had a nice push down midfield and passed out wide to Gretchen Harknett, put an offside penalty negated the attack.

At the start of the second half, Ole Miss looked to have another big chance when Madison Meador got control of a ball inside the box and passed to Addie Forbus near the 6-yard box. But, upon receiving it, Forbus was knocked to the ground with no foul called thwarting the threat.

Harknett finished the night with seven shots for three on goal, while Bella Fiorenzo, playing in her home state, posted three shots, all of which were on target.

The Rebels return home to begin another three-game homestand by hosting Troy Sunday night at 7 p.m. at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium.
