Steven McRoberts Weekly Press Conference

Ole Miss volleyball head coach Steven McRoberts met with members of the media on Monday as part of weekly press conference. He discussed the road win over South Carolina and talked about the mid-week match at LSU.
Opening statementรขโฌยฆ
"We are in the middle of a really tough stretch in the SEC schedule. Getting the win yesterday was huge, not only for our standing in league play but from a psychological standpoint. For us to get a win in the middle of all these road games against teams that are at the top of the league, is big. One of those road games is against LSU Wednesday. They have won four in a row."
On the Florida matchรขโฌยฆ
"Florida came here No. 1 in the nation. I thought we came out with a great mentality and played really well in the first set. At one point, we were up 21-16 in the first set and it felt really good. They did what a top team in the nation does and they closed us out on a really nice run for them. In the second set, we were up 5-1 and from then our offense just really struggled. I thought we won the serve and pass game against them. But, from a size and physicality standpoint they just took over at the net and we could not get anything going offensively."
On rebounding to win at South Carolinaรขโฌยฆ
After a quick turnaround, we flew to South Carolina on Saturday and played them yesterday. It was really nice to get a road sweep, and a road win just in general. I thought we played on of our more consistent matches. Lexi Thompson had a great bounce-back match. I have coached her now for four years and she has had her ups and downs but I don't know that I have ever seen her play three sets and not even have one kill. That's what she did against Florida, so for her to bounce back yesterday and have 16 kills and hit .333 in three sets showed a lot of growth. It was a great bounce back for her and a great bounce-back win for us as a team after losing three-straight."
On LSUรขโฌยฆ
"Heading into LSU Wednesday, they have won four in a row and are playing with a lot of confidence. A team that last year was down but are 32 in the RPI right now. They are inside the bubble for the NCAA tournament. It would be a great win for us to go there and get them. We have played a similar schedule and I think a lot of the scores and sets have been the same outside of them coming out on the winning end against Auburn. They swept them and we lost to them in four at home.
We will turn around this weekend and head to Texas A&M, which we have never won there. Again, we are in this stretch where we are playing five out of six on the road. No. 4 and No. 5 are coming up this week."
