Steven McRoberts Weekly Press Conference

Ole Miss volleyball head coach Steven McRoberts met with members of the media on Monday as part of his weekly press conference. Coach McRoberts discussed the matches against Mississippi State and Georgia and talked about the team's best start in SEC play in seven years.
Opening statement...
"I am really proud of our team right now. We are playing with a lot of confidence and of course winning will do that. The 3-1 start is our best start since 2010 and part of that is playing three out of four at home, you are playing some teams that are in the middle of the conference typically, that we will match up better with. It gives you the opportunities to have the start that we have had. I am proud of our young ladies coming out and taking care of that."
On the match vs. Mississippi State...
"We had a great week. We went to Mississippi State and since they made a coaching change a couple years ago, they have had our number. We outscored them in the first two sets 50 to 25. The third set was back and forth and we just kind of took advantage of a couple opportunities late in that set to take the sweep. Anytime you can get a sweep on the road in the SEC is big. Even if it is against a team that you should beat, we haven't done that in the past, at least not the recent past. Really proud to get that win there."
On the match vs. Georgia...
"Georgia has a new coach also, and they are playing with a lot of confidence. They have some good young players. I thought the biggest difference yesterday was our upperclassmen and them holding their poise in some tough situations. It went to the fifth set and I thought we played a complete match from the second set on, played really well. We have been waiting for our three pin players, Kate Gibson, Lexi Thompson and Emily Stroup all to play well in the same match. I don't believe that has happened all season, and those three all had very good matches. Our defense played really well also."
On the upcoming weekend...
"Now we get to go on the road at Arkansas and at Missouri this weekend. Both are top 35 RPI teams, so getting wins on the road will help us. We are playing with a lot of confidence right now so hopefully we can carry that out on the road."
