Ole Miss Volleyball falls at No. 6 Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Sophomore Emily Stroup posted her 10th double-double of the season, but the Ole Miss volleyball team fell to No. 6 Kentucky 3-0 (16-25, 10-25, 24-26) at Memorial Gymnasium Sunday afternoon to conclude their road trip.
Stroup finished with 12 kills on a .257 clip and 13 digs.
Kentucky jumped out to a 10-4 lead early in set one and the Rebels called timeout. The Wildcats maintained their lead and forced the Rebels to call their second timeout trailing 17-9. Behind a .514 hitting percentage, the Wildcats closed out the set 25-16.
The Wildcats raced out to a 10-4 lead in set two and the Rebels used their first timeout. Kentucky increased the lead to 17-9 and the Rebels could never get back in it, falling 25-10 as the Wildcats took a 2-0 lead.
Both teams battled early in set three with Kentucky leading 7-6 early. The Wildcats led 15-13 at the media timeout. They led 19-15 as Ole Miss called its first timeout of the set. Kentucky grabbed four match points at 24-20, but an attack error followed by a kill from Stroup and back-to-back tandem blocks by freshmen Bayleigh Scott and Lauren Bars tied it up at 24-24. A kill by Kentucky's Emily Franklin and then an attack error by the Rebels gave the Wildcats the set 26-24 and the match 3-0.
