Rebels Ink Prep Volleyball Senior Ace

OXFORD, Miss. â€" Texas standout and Prep Volleyball Senior Ace Aubrey Sultemeier has signed a national letter of intent to join the Ole Miss volleyball program in 2018, head coach Steven McRoberts announced Thursday.
Sultemeier, who hails from Fredricksburg, Texas, is a 6-3 middle blocker who was recently named a Top 100 Senior Ace by PrepVolleyball.com. She earned All-District honors in 2016 and was named Defensive Player of the Year. In 2015, Sultemeier earned All-State honors and in 2014 she was named Newcomer of the Year and a Frosh 59.
"Aubrey brings size to our team and experience playing for a very competitive club team, Alamo Volleyball," McRoberts said. "She has a huge block, and is a powerful attacker. We are excited that Aubrey is coming in a semester early in January, where she will have four months in the weight room with Chas (Ossenheimer). We are excited to see her growth in the spring, which will help her be ready to go in the fall. We think Aubrey is someone who can come in and make an impact on our program right away."
As Coach McRoberts noted, Sultemeier played club volleyball for Alamo helping lead them to the 2014 Patriot Division GJNC Championship as well as the 2016 Tour of Texas Championship and the 2017 Disney Showcase Championship.
Sultemeier will also help the Rebels continue their academic prowess, as she was named Academic All-State and All-District all four years.
The Rebels are in the stretch run of the season with two matches this weekend at Georgia on Friday and Texas A&M at home on Sunday. The Rebels welcome the Aggies for a nationally-televised match on the SEC Network at 2 p.m. Sunday for Dads and Daughters Day.
