Eight Rebels Earn 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award

Dec. 6, 2017 OXFORD, Miss. â€" Eight Rebels have been honored as recipients of the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award for the 2016-17 season.

The award, administered by the Faculty Athletic Representatives from the NCAA FBS conferences are given to recent graduates who finished their academic careers with at least a 3.80 cumulative GPA while simultaneously participating in at least two years of intercollegiate athletics at an FBS institution.

Rebels honored include: Saga Barzowski (Women's Track & Field), Aubrey Edie (Volleyball), Danielle Gray (Soccer), Gretchen Harknett (Soccer), Caitlin Lewis (Soccer), Mai Mahmoud-Aly (Women's Tennis), Dakota Matiko (Softball) and Alison Weisz (Rifle). The eight award recipients ties for third-most in the SEC this year.
