Lutjen earns career-high in singles and doubles
After a solid three weeks in Egypt that included a singles and doubles title, two-time Rebel All-American Jonas Lutjen earned career-highs in singles and doubles in the latest ATP World Rankings released Monday. Lutjen moved up 54 spots to 417 in singles and 95 spots to 596 in doubles.
On his way to earning his second professional title, Lutjen beat a player ranked 261 at the time. Lutjen has made great strides since coming back to the tour after multiple injuries. This time last year, he was ranked 1131 in singles and not ranked in doubles.
Scholtz continues in Egypt
Four-time All-American Nik Scholtz is currently ranked 515 in singles and up 22 spots to 315 in doubles. He and Lutjen reached the doubles final last week after winning the title the previous week in Egypt. Scholtz is competing in singles again this week in Egypt and faces Juan Carlos Saez of Chile in the first round.
