OXFORD, Miss. - After dropping a tough match last weekend, the Ole Miss men's tennis team bounced back Friday with a 4-3 win against Arkansas at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center to kick off a four-match homestand.

Doubles has been a bright spot for the Rebels all season, and they took care of business on courts two and three to secure the early 1-0 lead. Ricardo Jorge and Zvonimir Babic won 6-2 and then Tim Sandkaulen and Filip Kraljevic finished off a 6-2 win to clinch the point.

In a battle between two All-Americans at No. 1 singles, 33rd-ranked Gustav Hansson dominated ninth-ranked Mike Redlicki 6-2, 6-1 to make it 2-0 Rebels.

Grey Hamilton battled all the way back from 0-5 down in the first set to win his match 7-6(1), 6-2 and give the Rebels a 3-0 lead.

Arkansas kept battling, and earned a couple of three-setters at two and five to get within 3-2, before Fabian Fallert closed out a win over Adam Sanjurjo 6-3, 7-6(5) at No. 4 singles to clinch the victory.

Thoughts from head coach Toby Hansson…
"This was a great match. We played well across the board with a lot of energy in doubles. That was nice to see. Our doubles play has been at a high level every match. It's about executing in singles, and I thought everyone battled and stay focused in their matches. I am happy we were able to close it out. Fabi was down 0-3 in the tiebreaker and came back against a very good player. Credit to the guys today, they did a great job all around."

On Gus' match…
"We always feel like Gus has a chance when he's on like he was today. He refused to lose. Gus is tough to beat when he's locked in."

On the turning point of the match…
"The turning point of the match was when Grey came back from 0-5 to win the first set tiebreaker. That was huge for us. It was great to see him win the match, especially with what happened last time out against LSU."

On tight matches everywhere…
"It was a tight match, with Ricky battling on every point at two and losing a tough first set tiebreaker and then Zvonimir coming back and taking the second set. We did a good job of staying in the present and focused on every point."

Gus on his top 10 win…
"I felt really good out there starting with the warm up. I just went out there and tried to make every ball I could, and I was hitting my forehand really well. I have faith in my guys, and I had a good feeling that we were going to win today."

Grey on bouncing back and getting a big win…
"I started off slow, but he (Juan Marino) was playing well at the beginning. Coach told me to stay tough and keep battling and see what happens. After 5-1 and 5-2 I realized I was playing at a higher level and he seemed nervous. Once I got back to 5-5 I knew it was my set and from then on I just kept getting better. I played an incredible level in the second set and it was awesome to get us a 3-0 lead, especially with the other matches being so tight."

Fabian on the clinch…
"I was obviously aware that it would come down to me, because Tim was down a break in the third set. I just tried to stay tough in the tiebreaker, make him play the risky shots and play point-by-point. I didn't stress too much in the tiebreaker, because I knew that I could beat him in a third set if I had to."

On how big it is to start the homestand with a win…
"Toby told us that we had to win the match today and we did it. Tough matches, but the guys were competing across the board. It was a great effort overall. Now we go into next weekend's SEC matches with a little less pressure."
