OXFORD, Miss. - The No. 20 nationally ranked Ole Miss men's golf team will travel to Austin, Texas as the fourth seed to compete in the NCAA Austin Regional at The University of Texas Golf Club, the NCAA announced Thursday.

The Austin Regional will be played May 15-17. Third seeded Texas hosts top-seeded Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Ole Miss, North Carolina State, Kansas, Liberty, Iowa State, Georgia Southern, College of Charleston, McNeese State, Wichita State and Saint Peter's. Ole Miss owns a 13-4 record against the field with wins over seven of the thirteen opponents.

"I'm really excited to get started with our journey to win a national championship," said head coach Chris Malloy. "This team has been extremely consistent all year long and that should really help us in The regional. I know that group is ready to get out there and start competing."

The Rebel lineup includes sophomore Braden Thornberry, senior Ben Wolcott, sophomore Josh Seiple, junior Kerry Sweeney and senior Noah West. Ole Miss earned the fourth seed after claiming four tournament wins and advancing to the SEC Men's Golf match play quarterfinals. First team All-SEC selection Thornberry leads the Rebels with the second-best stroke average in the nation at 69.60. Thornberry has four tournament wins and eight top-five finishes this season. Wolcott earned second team All-SEC honors in his final season as a Rebel with a pair of medalist honors this year.

Following the conclusion of the NCAA Regionals, the top five from each of the six regional sites will advance to the 2017 NCAA Golf Championship May 26-31 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois. Northern Illinois University is the host institution for the 2017 championships. The Rebels have advanced to the NCAA Championship round four times, with the last coming in 2001.For all Ole Miss Men's golf news and information, follow the Rebels on Twitter at @OleMissMGolf, on Instagram at OleMissMGolf and on Facebook at facebook.com/OleMissMGolf.
