OXFORD, Miss. -- Not only did the Ole Miss women's tennis team make their ninth consecutive NCAA appearance in 2017, but they kept another important streak alive.

For the 21st straight year, the Rebels earned the prestigious ITA All-Academic Team Award, as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the yearly academic honors Tuesday. In addition, six players were named Scholar-Athletes.

The Rebels posted a 3.41 cumulative GPA for the 2016-17 academic year and rank second for consecutive appearances on this list.

"Another great effort by the players both in the classroom as well as on the court," head coach Mark Beyers said. "This is also a reflection of the work our academic support staff puts in, especially our academic counselor Justin Light."

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must have a grade point average of at least a 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.

Rising senior Arianne Hartono (Meppel, Netherlands) earned the honor for the third time in as many years after finishing the year with a perfect 4.00 GPA. Natalie Suk (Bradenton, Fla.) also earned the honor for the third time.

Tea Jandric (Zagreb, Croatia) and Brooke Stevens (Martinez, Georgia) picked up the accolade for the second time, while first-time honorees include Tereza Janatova (Nova Pak, Czech Republic) and Cameron Kriscunas (Hilton Head, South Carolina).
