2017-18 Schedule

OXFORD, Miss.
â€" Coming off their ninth straight NCAA appearance, the Ole Miss women's tennis team announced a challenging 2017-18 schedule that includes home matches against the defending NCAA and SEC Champions and six top 25 opponents from a year ago.

Fall schedule…
The Rebels will compete in several tournaments in the fall, beginning with the Furman Fall Classic Sept. 22-24 and the ITF Tournament in Stillwater, Oklahoma Sept. 23-Oct. 1. Additional fall tournaments include the ITA All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, California, an ITF Tournament in Florence, South Carolina, the ITA Regionals in Auburn, Alabama, the Roberta Allison Classic in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and the Oracle/ITA National Fall Championships in Indian Wells, California.

New indoor tennis center to open in 2018...
Set to open a brand new six-court indoor facility in January, the Rebels' 2018 schedule includes 15 teams who made the NCAA Championships in 2017 and 13 teams who finished among the top 25 in the final ITA National Rankings. The Rebels will host Memphis Feb. 3 for their first match in the new indoor tennis center.

Ole Miss kicks off the spring Jan. 13-15 at the FGCU Invitational in Fort Myers, Florida followed by a match at Purdue on Jan. 20th. The Rebels made history last year, becoming the first No. 4 seed to advance out of the ITA Kickoff to the National Team Indoor Championships. This year, the Rebels will travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma for the kickoff to face TCU in the first round and either Arizona State or Oklahoma State, who finished ranked No. 10 last year and made the NCAA Finals two years ago, in the second round. Other non-conference matches include a trip to Waco, Texas to face Baylor, ranked No. 17 on 2017.

Defending NCAA and SEC Champions come to Oxford…
In 2017, 11 SEC teams ended the year ranked in the top 25 and six of those will head to Oxford this year, including defending NCAA Champion Florida, who the Rebels open SEC play with (March 1). Other big home league matches include No. 15 South Carolina (March 3), No. 18 Kentucky (March 15), No. 4 and defending SEC Champion, Vanderbilt (March 17), No. 6 Georgia (April 5) and No. 24 Tennessee (April 7).

The SEC Tournament will be in Knoxville, Tennessee April 25-29 and the NCAA first and second rounds will take place May 11-13 at sites to be determined. The NCAA Championships will be May 17-28 in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Head coach Mark Beyers on the schedule…
"As usual, the SEC schedule is a who's who of college tennis. In addition, we have a great non-conference matchup with Baylor, and our kick off weekend at Oklahoma State is stacked with some big time teams. We look forward to seeing Rebel Nation this year as we open a brand new indoor tennis center and welcome some of the top teams to Oxford in March and April."

The Rebels return six of their top seven including All-American Arianne Hartono and Natalie Suk, their top two from last year. In addition, the Rebels added one of the top recruits in college tennis, Sabina Machalova.
