OXFORD, Miss. --
While the major events of professional tennis are done for the year, the first national championship event for collegiate tennis begins this weekend, as the nation's top players gather in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships.

Pre-qualifying matches begin Saturday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center with qualifying matches taking place Oct. 2-3. The main draw begins Oct. 5 and concludes with the finals Oct. 9.

Who's going...
Ole Miss will be well-represented this weekend and throughout the entire tournament. Senior Zvonimir Babic, junior Filip Kraljevic and freshman Cotter Wilson will compete in the prequalifying singles starting Saturday. Senior Grey Hamilton and junior Fabian Fallert (ranked No. 85) will begin competition in the qualifying tournament. Senior Gustav Hansson, ranked No. 17 in the nation, starts his quest for a national championship in singles in the main draw. He will also team up with Babic in the qualifying doubles. Hamilton and Fallert, ranked No. 11 in the nation, begin their doubles in the main draw.

Rebels at the All-American....
The Rebels have claimed singles and doubles titles at the All-American. In 2004, three-time All-American Catalin Gard won the singles title and in 2008, Jonas Berg and Bram ten Berge took home the doubles crown.

What's at stake...
In addition to vying for the All-American national title, players will be competing to secure a berth into the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which takes place November 1-5, in Palm Desert, California. Singles quarterfinalists, consolation singles champion and finalist, along with doubles semifinalists and consolation doubles champion and finalist advance to the end of fall national championship.

Quoting head coach Toby Hansson...
"We have a put in some good work the last few weeks both on the court and with our conditioning. Our new strength and conditioning coach, Brett Lenaburg, has done a fantastic job in getting these guys ready. It is a tough, long tournament and hopefully we'll have some guys make a good run."
