Senior Quarterback Named SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week

OXFORD, Miss. – After helping lead Ole Miss to a come-from-behind 37-33 road victory over Arkansas this past weekend, senior quarterback Jordan Ta'amu was named Southeastern Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week by the league office on Monday.

Ta'amu accounted for 528 offensive yards and three touchdowns and engineered the game-winning, 97-yard touchdown drive with 2:02 left in the fourth quarter to help the Rebels earn their fifth win of the season. His 528 total yards were the second-most in school history, only behind Archie Manning's history 540-yard performance against Alabama in 1969.

Taamu, who was also named one of eight Manning Award Stars of the Week, finished the game 26-of-35 for 387 yards and two TDs through the air. Ta'amu also rushed for a career-high 141 yards and one score, and finished just 37 yards shy of the single-game rushing record by a Rebel quarterback. Ta'amu has tallied at least one rushing TD in three of the last four games

The senior signal-caller now has five of the top 10 single-game total offense performances in program history, including four this season; the most ever by any Ole Miss player. Ta'amu currently ranks 10th all-time in career passing yards at Ole Miss with 3,980 yards.

Ole Miss is back in action this Saturday as the Rebels play host to SEC foe Auburn. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. and will be televised on ESPN.
