Ole Miss Hoops Excites Large Crowd in Return of Square Jam

After a two-year hiatus, Square Jam returned with much fanfare at Friday night's tipoff event emceed by Richard Cross and ESPN's Seth Greenberg. Included in the festivities were a three-point shooting contest with the Rebel men and women, a kids dunk contest, and a full dunk contest with the Rebel men, complete with guest judges.
New to the festivities this year was the inclusion of One Shining Moment, a special feature as part of the ongoing 2018 Year of the Fan promotions. Prior to the teams being introduced, fans could take the court and try to replicate some of the most memorable shots in Ole Miss history, and during the event two fans were chosen to try out one shot each from the history of the Rebel men and women.
Both the Ole Miss men and women open with home exhibitions on Friday, Nov. 2, with the Rebel women going first at 3 p.m. vs. LeMoyne-Owen and the Rebel men following at 6 p.m. vs. Fayettville State -- with both games airing live on SEC Network +. Ole Miss women's basketball opens the regular season at home on Nov. 6 vs. Norfolk State at 6 p.m., while the men open with Western Michigan at home on Nov. 10 at 3 p.m.
