Rebel Women Hold at No. 18, Men No. 22 in Week Four USTFCCCA Rankings

Ole Miss Competes Next at Wisconsin for the Pre-National Invitational on Oct. 13
NEW ORLEANS – Ole Miss cross country remained in the upper echelon of the national rankings despite a week off, with the Rebel women holding at No. 18 and the men at No. 22 in the Week Four USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll released on Tuesday.
This is the second-straight ranking for the Rebel women, who reappeared in the national poll for the first time this season last week following a stellar showing at the Battle in Beantown on Sept. 21. The No. 18 slot both this week and last sits as the highest ranking for Ole Miss in the women's poll since being the No. 12 school in Week Four of the 2017 season – the highest in program history. Today marks the 15th total appearance in the national poll for the Rebel women.
The Rebel men, meanwhile, fell just two spots to No. 22 after the idle week. Last week, Ole Miss recorded the second-largest jump in the men's poll after moving up 10 spots to No. 20 following a third-place finish at the Battle in Beantown. This week marks the 22nd-straight appearance for the Rebel men, their 28th in the last 33 polls overall dating back to 2014. Additionally, the Rebel men have been at least receiving votes in 31 of the last 33 national coaches polls.
Combined, this is the 14th occasion in program history where both the Rebel men and women have been ranked in the same polls. Ole Miss is one of just eight schools nationally to have both its men's and women's programs finish within the top-25 at the NCAA Championships in each of the last two seasons (joining Arkansas, BYU, Colorado, Michigan State, NC State, Oregon and Stanford).
Additionally, the Rebel men recently moved up to No. 1 in the men's South Region rankings on Monday, joining the Ole Miss women's team at the top. Currently, there are only three other schools that hold the No. 1 spot in both the men's and women's regional rankings: Wisconsin (Great Lakes), Iowa State (Midwest) and Arkansas (South Central).
Ole Miss has one more week off before heading to the University of Wisconsin for the Pre-National Invitational on Oct. 13.
