Little Earns Midseason All-America Honors, Four Named All-SEC
OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss junior offensive tackle Greg Little was named a Midseason All-American by four publications this week, and he was one of four Rebels named All-SEC Second Team by Pro Football Focus.
Little, a junior out of Allen, Texas, was named Second Team All-American at the midway point by Sports Illustrated, USA Today, Associated Press and Athlon. Little has anchored the Ole Miss offensive line, appearing in every game at left tackle for the last three seasons. Heralded as one of the top NFL Draft prospects for 2019, Little earned six preseason All-America nods and is also on the Outland Trophy and Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award watch lists.
Little holds perhaps the most important position on one of the top offensive line units in the country. Recently, Pro Football Focus named the Rebel line as the top pass blocking group in college football.
Pro Football Focus also named Little to the midseason All-SEC second team, alongside quarterback Jordan Ta'amu, running back Scottie Phillips and receiver A.J. Brown.
The Rebel offensive unit ranks No. 5 in the nation in total offense through eight games and fourth in passing offense. Ta'amu is third in college football in total passing yards with 2,622 and is second nationally in total offense with 364.8 per game.
His favorite target, Brown, leads the SEC in receiving yards and receptions per game. With 805 yards, the junior from Starkville, Mississippi, checks in sixth nationally in that category and is eighth in the nation with 7.5 receptions per game.
Phillips has been a dynamic runner in his first year in a Rebel uniform. He's No. 2 in the SEC and eighth in college football with nine rushing touchdowns. The Jones County JC product is third in the conference and No. 14 in the nation in rushing yardage at 782 yards on the season.
The announcement comes during the open week on the Rebels' schedule. Following the bye this weekend, Ole Miss is back in action Saturday, Nov. 3, at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, where it will host South Carolina for Military Appreciation Weekend.
