Women's Tennis Run Ends at All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. -- The Ole Miss women's tennis run at the Riviera ITA All-American Championships ended Tuesday at the Riviera Tennis Club hosted by Pepperdine University.
The 49th-ranked duo in the latest ITA Preseason Rankings, sophomore Sabina Machalova and junior Tea Jandric fell in the opening round of doubles qualifying, dropping a grueling 8-7(6) contest to top-seeded Angela Kulikov/Rianna Valdes of USC, ranked no. 27.
Machalova also competed in singles action, battling with UCLA's Abi Altick before succumbing to a 6-4, 7-6(9) decision. Machalova and Altick sit right beside each other, with No. 53 and No. 52 national rankings, respectively.
The Rebels return to Oxford, preparing to host the ITA Regionals which begin late next week.
