Ole Miss Defeated 4-0 by Arkansas

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – A slow start doomed Ole Miss in its quarterfinal match of the SEC Tournament on Tuesday night in Orange Beach as the fifth-seeded Rebels fell 4-0 to Arkansas at the Orange Beach Sportsplex.

The match got off to about as bad of a start as imaginable for Ole Miss (12-7-1), with the Razorbacks (12-4-3) getting on the board first in the second-minute on a header by Tori Cannata following a corner service. Arkansas added two more in quick succession in the fourth and seventh-minutes, one an own goal and the second off the foot of Taylor Malham.

Ole Miss took just three shots in the first half but all three created great scoring chances. However, CeCe Kizer, Channing Foster and Ella Frischknecht was unable to put their attempts on frame.

Following the halftime break, Ole Miss looked to come out and seize momentum. Instead, the Razorbacks put another on the board in the 58th-minute on a Reece Christopherson shot that took a wicked deflection and found the netting.

Despite the score-line, the Rebels continued to fight throughout the night but were unable to get anything going, falling by their widest margin of the season.

The Rebels now turn their attention to the NCAA Tournament Selection Show to hear their fate. The selection show is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 5 on NCAA.com.
