HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Competing in their second tournament of the 2018 fall season, the Ole Miss women's golf team heads to Denver for the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate this weekend. The three-day event will be played at Highlands Ranch Golf Course, which will be playing 6,513 yards and par 72 with teams playing 18 holes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The sixteen-team field consists of the host school University of Denver, Cal Poly, Central Arkansas, Colorado State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Tulsa, UC Davis, Idaho, Kansas, UTSA, Washington State, and Wyoming.
Head coach Kory Henkes is sending five Rebels to compete at the event, including Julia Johnson, Conner Beth Ball, Pi-Lillebi Hermansson, Ellen Hutchinson-Kay and Martina Flori.
"The team has put in a lot of work since our last tournament and they are eager to play again this week," said Henkes. "Highlands Ranch is a course several of the girls have played before and feel comfortable with the layout and their ability to play some great golf."
Julia Johnson and Conner Beth Ball will once again lead the Rebels at the tournament. The duo earned All-SEC honors with their stellar play last season and are continuing that trend early on in the 2018-19 campaign.
Ellen Hutchinson-Kay returns to the lineup after making her collegiate debut three weeks ago at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate where she finished 77-73-72--222 in a tie for 23rd.
Junior Pi-Lillebi Hermansson is making her 2018-19 debut after competing in all 12 tournaments as a sophomore with a 75.2 stroke average.
Last time at the event, the Rebels finished in 7th place with an 877 in 2016. Pi-Lillebi Hermansson and Martina Flori finished t-24 and t-41st respectively.
