Volleyball Announces Class of 2023

OXFORD, Miss.– Ole Miss Volleyball head coach Steven McRoberts announced his Class of 2023 Wednesday during National Signing Day, adding three additions to his 2019 roster.
Joining the Rebels next semester will be middle blocker Ava Wampler, while setter Lauren DeLo and outside hitter Anna Bair will arrive in Oxford next fall.
ANNA BAIR
Outside Hitter | 6'2 | St. Louis, Mo. | Ursuline Academy
Anna, a senior at Ursuline Academy in Kirkwood, Mo., was named to the Metro Women's Athletic Association First Team all four years of high school. Bair was tabbed conference MVP in her latest season. She earned a spot on numerous club and prep All-Tournament teams, including both the Effingham Crossroads Classic and Metro-East Belleville East First Team all four years. During her junior season, Anna secured tournament MVP for the Metro-East Belleville East Tournament. She led the St. Louis region in kills as a junior and senior, averaging nearly six kills a set in her final campaign. She finished her high school career with 1,323 kills.
Coach McRoberts on Anna: "She's somebody that got on our radar really fast a couple years ago. She's a physical player and hits the ball really hard. We know she's someone who can come in and compete right away."
LAUREN DELO
Setter | 6'2 | Williamston, S.C. | St. Joseph's Catholic School
Lauren is wrapping up her last year at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Greenville, S.C., after spending her freshman and sophomore seasons at Jenks High School in Oklahoma. Lauren helped lead Jenks to a 2016 Class 6A runner-up finish and guided St. Joseph's to 2017 and 2018 Class 2A state titles. DeLo was named to the 2018 South Carolina All-State Team as the 2A Regional Player of the Year. Additionally, she made the 2016 AVCA Phenom List and was a MaxPreps Player of the Week in both the 2016-17 and 2018-19 seasons. At the club level, Lauren made the 2018 AAU National Championship All-Tournament Team and was tabbed a 2018 JVA All-American. DeLo is a member of National Honor Society and has been named to the honor roll four times. DeLo was recently honored with Under Armour All-American Honorable Mention status.
Coach McRoberts on Lauren: "She is somebody else we've known for years. She's a player that we've seen grown immensely with a very good court IQ, and we're excited to get her in here and see her compete."
AVA WAMPLER
Middle Blocker | 6'5 | Kerrville, Texas | Tivy High School
A fall 2018 graduate, Ava attended Tivy High School in Texas. She was selected to the Texas Girls Coaches Association 5A/6A All-Star team, and was named Second Team All-District during her junior season. Wampler was also named First Team All-District while competing in Kerrville. A member of Alamo Volleyball Association, Ava is also a National Honor Society member and earned Academic All-District recognition all four years of high school.
Coach McRoberts on Ava: "We just love how much Ava loves Ole Miss. She's going to help us with a tall presence in the middle. She's a very good blocker and bring some physicality to that position for us."
