Ole Miss Opens the Indoor Season Jan. 11 at UAB’s Blazer Invite
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss men's and women's track & field will look to keep the success rolling, as fourth-year head coach Connie Price-Smith has announced the full 2019 indoor and outdoor schedules.
Ole Miss opens the indoor season after winter break with a preview of the national championship track at UAB's Blazer Invite on Jan. 11 in Birmingham, Alabama. The Rebels follow that up with the first of two trips to Nashville on Jan. 18-19 for the Vanderbilt Invite before heading up to the Hoosier State for the Indiana Relays on Jan. 25-26.
Ole Miss will split squad the following weekend on Feb. 1-2, as the Rebels will send delegations to Southern Illinois for the Don DeNoon Classic, as well as to the Texas Tech Shootout. The second trip to Nashville follows with the Music City Challenge on Feb. 8-9 before championship season is set to begin.
The 2019 SEC Indoor Championships will be held at Arkansas' Randal Tyson Track Center on Feb. 22-23. Two weeks afterward, the NCAA Indoor Championships will be held at the Birmingham CrossPlex on March 8-9.

For the second consecutive year, Ole Miss will open the outdoor season at the Power-5 Trailblazer Challenge, this year held at the University of Miami on March 22-23. Last season, the inaugural Trailblazer Challenge was held in Los Angeles at USC, featuring the five women in charge of combined men's and women's programs in the Power-5: Miami's Amy Deem, Ohio State's Karen Dennis, Tennessee's Beth Alford-Sulivan, USC's Caryl Smith Gilbert and Ole Miss' own Connie Price-Smith.
This year, however, a sixth school will join the festivities in Coral Gables as Washington is accepted into the fold with first-year head coach Maurica Powell.
The following week, Ole Miss will host the first of two home meets with the Ole Miss Classic on March 30. The Joe Walker Invite will be held two weeks later on April 12-13, with a quick trip to Georgia for the Spec Towns Invite in between on April 5-6.
The Rebels will split squad on April 19-20, sending a group of distance runners out west to the Bryan Clay Invite in Azusa, California, while the remainder of the team will travel to Auburn for the War Eagle Invite. Ole Miss will wrap up the regular season with a one-day meet in Baton Rouge for the LSU Relays on April 27.
Outdoor championship season will open with the 2019 SEC Outdoor Championships, which will also be held at Arkansas at John McDonnell Field on May 9-11. The NCAA East Regional, the qualifying round for the NCAA Championships, will be held May 23-25 at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
For the first time since 2012, though, the NCAA Outdoor Championships will not be held at Oregon's historic Hayward Field, as the home of the Ducks since 1921 has been demolished in order to accommodate renovations for the 2021 IAAF World Championships. Instead, the 2019 and 2020 editions of the national meet will be held at the University of Texas' Mike A. Myers Stadium. This year marks the first time Austin has hosted the NCAA Championships since 2004.
TV and online streaming info for meets will be available at a later date.
