COLUMBIA, Mo. - The first of consecutive road trips for the No. 11 Ole Miss women's tennis team is in the books, with the Rebels claiming a 4-1 win at Missouri Sunday, to conclude the trip 2-0.

The match was moved indoors due to the temperature, and the Rebels took the early momentum by winning the doubles point. Sabina Machalova and Tea Jandric moved up to No. 1 doubles and captured a 6-1 win. Missouri won at No. 3 doubles 6-1, but Natalie Suk and Anna Vrbenska won 6-3 on court two to clinch the point.

Missouri only has four indoor courts, but the Rebels wouldn't need all the courts on this day. Machalova made quick work of Mackenzie Middlebrooks at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2 to give the Rebels a 2-0 lead.

Jandric made it 3-0 Rebels as she beat Ellie Wright 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.

Missouri got on the board with a win on court three, but that would be it, as Arianne Hartono closed out a determined Serena Nash at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(1) for the clinch.

Courtside with Head Coach Mark Beyers...
"Winning on the road in the SEC is really tough. For us to go 2-0 this weekend was a solid accomplishment. Every team in the SEC is good, and especially when you play at their place, it is always a battle. Today, the Missouri kids pushed us from beginning to end and made us earn every single point."

Next up…
The Rebels continue on the road next weekend at LSU and Texas A&M.
