No. 6 Women's Tennis at Mississippi State Friday

OXFORD, Miss. -- The No. 6 Ole Miss women's tennis team looks to keep its win streak alive as they conclude the regular season at No. 27 Mississippi State, Friday.
The Rebels (17-5, 8-4) and the Bulldogs 15-8, 6-6) will square off at 4 p.m. from the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.
Last Time Out...
Ole Miss went 2-0 last weekend including a 4-3 win against then-No. 7 Georgia and a 4-0 win versus Tennessee to run their win streak to a program best six in the SEC. The win against Georgia marked the Rebels first against the Bulldogs since 2010.
Scouting Mississippi State...
Mississippi State split a pair of matches last weekend, beating Tennessee 4-2 before dropping a 4-0 decision to Georgia on Monday, both at home. The Bulldogs are led by Madison Harrison at the No. 1 spot. She owns a 10-8 dual match record and has won three of her last five.
Rebels vs. Bulldogs...
Ole Miss leads the all-time series 52-7, but the Bulldogs have won the last two meetings. In the last meeting (2017), MSU defeated Ole Miss 4-3 for its first win in Oxford since 1989. Last time in Starkville (2016), the Bulldogs rallied to snap the Rebels' 27-match win streak in the series
Twice is Nice...
Sabina Machalova was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week. She became the third player in program history to earn Freshman of the week honors more than once. Machalova went 3-0 in singles and doubles last weekend to help the Rebels go 2-0 with wins against then-No. 7 Georgia and then-No. 31 Tennessee.
Rebels in the Rankings...
Ole Miss moved up to No. 6 in the latest Oracle/ITA Rankings announced Tuesday. This marks 13 straight weeks for the Rebels to be ranked in the top 25. In the latest individual rankings, senior Arianne Hartono continues her outstanding season, moving up four spots to a career-high No. 11 in singles and one spot to a career-high No. 5 in doubles with Alexa Bortles. Hartono owns a 26-6 overall record, 17-2 at No. 1 singles and is 10-2 in the SEC. She has won six straight. In doubles, she and Bortles are 20-9 overall, 11-4 at No. 1 and 5-2 in the SEC. Freshman Sabina Machalova moved up to No. 80 in singles with a 17-10 overall record, 4-4 in the SEC.
