Day Began with Kids Clinic and Volleyball 101

OXFORD, Miss. โย A full day of activities with the Ole Miss volleyball team Saturday, culminated with the annual Red-Blue Scrimmage inside the Gillom Athletics Performance Center.

Team Blue reigned victorious with a 2-1 (25-23, 21-25, 25-23) win against Team Red.
ย
Head coach Steven McRoberts shared his thoughts on the competitive scrimmage as the team heads into game week next week.
ย
"We got a lot out of the scrimmage from an offensive and defensive standpoint, and we were able to see multiple things we need to work on before next weekend," McRoberts said. "Being able to play in front of a crowd like we had was a lot of fun."

Prior to the Red-Blue Scrimmage, more than 50 kids ages 5-12 turned out for the Kids Clinic where they learned various skills from the Ole Miss volleyball team. Following the clinic, Coach McRoberts held a Volleyball 101 with fans teaching them the various positions on the court and rules of the game.

The Rebels kick off the season Aug. 24 against Virginia at the Iowa State Invitational. The match begins at 10 a.m. Later that day, the Rebels will face the home team, Iowa State at 6:30 p.m. and then conclude the tournament Aug. 25 against Oregon State at 12 p.m.
