Five Earn ITA Preseason Rankings

Ole Miss places three singles and two double pairs on list
ITA Preseason Rankings
TEMPE, Ariz. –The Rebel women placed five on the Intercollegiate Preseason Rankings, which was announced by the organization late Tuesday evening.
Junior All-American Alexa Bortles and freshman Isolde De Jong share the top doubles ranking for the Rebels, coming in at No. 31. Bortles was ranked in the Top 10 nationally in doubles last season, while De Jong joins the team as a freshman from Rotterdam, Netherlands and brings five National Champion titles to the court.
Leading the way for the ladies individually is sophomore Sabina Machalova, who appears at No. 53 in singles and No. 50 in the doubles listing with partner Tea Jandric, who ranks 92ndin singles.
Machalova earned Second Team All-SEC and All-Freshman team honors in her debut last year, and finished with a 10-5 record with Jandric in doubles. Jandric was also an All-SEC Second Team selection.
Junior Anna Vrbenska was also recognized with a spot at No. 122 individually.
The women begin their 2018-19 campaigns this weekend, traveling to Lubbock, Texas for the USTA Pro Circuit 25K.
