OXFORD, Miss.  –
After some impressive performances during the fall, the Ole Miss Men's Tennis squad gears up for its 2019 spring campaign, beginning things at the Miami Fall Invite in Coral Gables, Fla., beginning Friday.

The Rebels open play at 1 p.m. Friday in a "hidden dual" format, facing competitors from No. 8 Texas, Wisconsin, and the host school Miami. Ole Miss will begin with doubles play against Miami, and then follows that with singles play against the Longhorns.

Saturday finds the Rebels facing Texas in doubles action before following up with singles play against Wisconsin, and conclude the weekend Sunday with doubles against Wisconsin and finishing with singles against the Hurricanes.

Ole Miss advanced to the NCAA "Sweet Sixteen" last season, their 25thconsecutive NCAA Tournament bid and 17thtrip to the Round of 16.

The Rebels begin the 2019 year receiving votes in the ITA Preseason Poll and return five lettermen from last year's group, including seniors Fabian Fallert and Filip Kraljevic and junior Tim Sandkaulen, who have all competed in the NCAA Tournament during their Rebel careers.  Sandkaulen began the fall ranked 15th by the ITA, while Fallert and sophomore partner Finn Reynolds finished 5th in the last individual ITA rankings in late November.

AT THE NET WITH… HEAD COACH TOBY HANSSON
"We are going to be challenged this spring, but we have trained hard this past fall for the test. We have a strong group of leaders with experience who can guide our younger guys. We're very eager and excited for the season to get underway."

UP NEXT
The weekend fares as good preparation for the squad, who begins dual match action next week, still in Florida, against Texas as part of the USTA Collegiate Series.

The Rebels return to Oxford for their home opener, welcoming North Alabama for a doubleheader of dual matches Saturday, Jan. 19, beginning at 2 p.m.
