Ole Miss sends four to the NCTC in Palm Springs

OXFORD, Miss.  --  Coming off a historic 2018 spring campaign which saw the Ole Miss Women's Tennis team secure its first ever national champion in now-graduate Arianne Hartono and its highest team ranking ever at No. 3, the Rebels are ready to swing into gear for 2019, starting the season in Palm Springs, Calif., for the National Collegiate Tennis Classic.

Four women will travel to the event, held at the La Quinta Resort and Country Club, which begins Friday, January 11.

Leading the way for the Rebels is All-American junior Alexa Bortles and classmate Anna Vrbenska, an All-SEC selection a year ago. Joining them is senior Allie Sanford and redshirt junior Tereza Janatova, who jumped into the ITA Rankings at No.  112 after several strong fall performances.

The Rebels begin the season ranked 12thin the country, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Wednesday.

AT THE NET WITH… HEAD COACH MARK BEYERS
"I am very excited for this spring and what is in store for our team. We're coming off an amazing season last spring and we continued to show success this past fall. I'm excited to see our upperclassmen lead this team and our schedule will definitely bring challenges, which I know these ladies can handle."
